An Empty Pantry and Cold Donor List
Meals by Grace, a core ministry of Ministries of Grace, faced a critical challenge: their pantry was nearly empty, and more than 150 families needed food that week. At the same time, their donor list of nearly 20,000 contacts had grown cold, and the outdated website and giving process made it difficult for supporters to respond quickly. Ministries of Grace needed an immediate campaign that could re-engage donors and secure both financial gifts and in-kind donations.
Emergency Email Blitz, Built on Strategic Prep
Soulheart had recently overhauled the Ministries of Grace website, updated the giving portal, and launched a weekly newsletter to warm up the contact list. This foundation allowed us to act quickly when the crisis hit.
Emergency Appeal – A direct, urgent email with facts, photos, and videos straight from the pantry.
Follow-Up & Thanks – Thank-you email including a CTA to share the campaign and invite others to give.
Newsletter & Resend – A scheduled newsletter reinforced the appeal, and the original emergency email was resent to non-openers.
By blending the authentic voice of Suellen Daniels (founder of Ministries of Grace) with urgency-driven subject lines and preview text, the emails made a compelling and emotional appeal that drove immediate action.

The campaign struck a chord with the Ministries of Grace community. Within hours of the first email, thousands of dollars poured in, and donors continued to respond throughout the campaign. The effort not only met the urgent need but also reactivated a large donor list, building momentum for future engagement.
